Sacred Sexuality Classes

Sacred Sexuality is a celebration of the human capacities of self-awareness, compassion, playfulness, communion and love.  Taoist Sexual Practices and Tantra are both founded in the understanding that the body is a sacred vessel; a vessel we use to experience ourselves as complete and eventually integrated beings.

Most of us in the west have grown up in a culture that teaches that sexual fulfillment is ‘sinful’ and spiritual bliss is not possible without renunciation of the body.  Even if we do not consciously believe this, it is our unfortunate ‘cultural legacy’. 

In exact opposition to this view of life Taoist and Tantric traditions encourage us to live ecstatically through cultivation of our connection with our body and then to ‘embody’ that spirit by bringing this awareness to our daily lives.  They tell us that through the body- rather than in spite of it- is one way to reach fulfillment and bliss and that without a connection to our body we cannot truly experience the life that is meant for us.  In short, ecstasy is alive, pulsing and waiting to be discovered and manifested as our truest personal expression. There is no greater tonic to the human spirit then when sexual energy is connected to the heart!

In this class we create an atmosphere of openness and warmth so that we can work with the feminine and masculine polarities cherished by both Taoist and Tantric traditions.  Exploring the revitalizing and healing potential of sacred sexuality in a playful, safe and joyous environment is our goal. This class is open to all singles, couples and partners of whatever style of relationship. All are welcome regardless of prior experience, sexual orientation, age or any other designation.
